Only 2 anglers fished. The river level dropped over the day from the +2m gained the previous day. Steady bites throughout the day to pellet and cage feeder, but it got easier as the river dropped and we could move from slacks out into the flow a bit more.
We caught from 4 or 5 swims. Chub were 2lb and 4lb. We had one baby barbel of 1lb, which was nice to see, and the rest of the barbel all over 5lb, with two over 8lb and the largest going 9lb dead. E lost a few to hook pulls. This was my mates first trip to the Wye and first time fishing for barbel. What an experience. Fantastic fishing in beautiful surroundings.

Level over 2m at Hereford bridge in the morning so only fished a few hours in the afternoon once the levels had dropped enough to be fishable. All to meat.

River was in flood and very coloured with much debris coming down stream. We both fished with heavy feeders to hold bottom trying an assortment of hook baits, sausage and cheese flavoured halibut pellets along with pepperami but no bites unfortunately.

Water cleared since day before, still murky but fished for salmon for a couple of hours, had a pesky trout have a go, then got a serious tug, maybe a salmon? Nothing caught.

Great morning’s fishing. Fished from 8am until 12 noon. Caught 1 on a yellow dancer then switched to an orange blob and caught 2 and lost 1 with plenty of knocks and follows on the orange blob. Perfect location and 2 fish just under 2lb and my third was 2.5lb. Great sport.

River well up and fish hard to find. Best chub went 4lb 8oz, the 'other fish' were eels. Lovely setting.

River was fast and deep but although tricky, not impossible to wade. the water was reasonably clear compared to the color below usk town. we fished fly only and hooked a couple of brown trout (5" and 8.5") both fell to a bead-head nymph. both returned. access was good and the land was well maintained with plenty of clear access from the bank. We did not see anyone else on the beat all day.
well recommended and will look to return next year
