Nice days fishing. But way too many leaves hitting the line then blocking up on the end tackle.
Will try a different swim tomorrow

Fished for a few hours in the afternoon. Found the river in perfect condition and very clear. Caught one small out of season trout, followed by a small 6" grayling and then a lovely 12" grayling. All upstream of the bridge and on copper bead nymphs. It was my first time on this stretch and appreciated the easy access and wading.

My first time fishing this beat after thinking about it many times and I enjoyed every minute of it. A beautiful bit of river, I managed to land 4 grayling, 2 tiddlers and 2 decent, weighing over a pound. Also 5 OOS brownies all around 8 ounces. All fish caught Czech nymphing and all on the jig fly. The conditions were perfect, slight tinge to the water with a blustery wind and spitting rain all day. I look forward to returning to this beat and fishing the last 200 yards which I had to bypass due to failing light.

A quick trip before the next lockdown. The fishing was slow with oos trout showing more interest than the grayling, all caught on nymphs. A good sized salmon was seen moving up through Herons run. Largest grayling was 15".

river condition ok but a little low, and crystal clear water, I fished 7.6 rod 4w, 4lb tippet with a spider on the dropper and ginger tom on point size 16. No fish caught plenty seen, I spooked them I expect. Heavy rain and very windy did not help the day. Spoke with farm owners who were very pleasant. I will fish this again when restrictions are lifted as easy location and very good wadding with good river access..

Tough day fishing in and below the wood, possibly hampered by the slightly colder weather and success on this beat the previous day. Beautiful, nonetheless.

Nice beat. When we booked I hadn't realised that this is actually the opposite bank of the Upper Holme Lacey beat!
Most of the fishing is on the near bank, which makes for comfortable fishing when the river has a bit of water on. Access is good, although expect the usual steep banks. The one downside being the car entrance via the gate off the Holme Lacy road. Cars fly down the hill and I was really glad that I was fishing with a friend as he could check the way was clear before driving out.
Fishing was a bit slow, we expected more water to be honest, but a very enjoyable day nonetheless.
