Really enjoyed fishing this new beat. Not many 'proper' swims and steep banks, especially in top field, but settled into a lovely. but snaggy swim on 1st (lower) field. 3 average size barbel (and 1 lost) and a couple of decent chub. Lot of perch activity during the day.

Nice stretch and will definitely be back and yes, getting in & out of the fishery is very dodgy !

Fishing Passport Note : There is swim 'maintenance' planned for the start of the 2021 season

River level rising slowly after previous days heavy rain. Fished swims at the top of the beat and in the middle. 5 Barbel and 1 Chub from the top swim and 6 Barbel from the middle swims. Majority of fish caught on meat the rest on pellet. Good average size of Barbel with the biggest 9lb 9oz. A very enjoyable days fishing.

A good day despite atrocious conditions, the rain not letting up from dawn til dusk. Bank erosion plus wet ground makes for an interesting combination of fishing and dog spike abseiling - despite the presence of said dog spike both of us nearly ended in the drink on several occasions.
Fished the steps plus the one next door, fish falling to various baits through the day. We both tried further downstream for a change but the banks are so high and treacherous it was difficult to find safe places to fish.
All in all, despite ending up wetter than a barbels pocket, a great day and we'll be back when we dry out

River water level good but clear. Rained all day making the swims at the top end of the beat to treacherous to fish. Fished the bend above the vanstone pool, tried various baits and methods which resulted in 2 bites and 2 lost fish to hook pulls. Our worst days fishing ever on the river.
