First cast provided a beautifully conditioned barbel of 8lb 15oz, everything looked set for an excellent day's fishing..!
However 9 hours later and various swims explored no further action was forth coming.
River is still very low and clear, hopefully recent rain within the region will spark things back to life.

Fishing:Trout (River)

This was the day of the sudden 10 degree temperature drop and a bit of a shock. The forecast mentioned sunshine and showers but in the Irfon valley this turned out to mean single figure air temperatures with a burst of heavy rain or even hail about every 15 minutes. The river crept up inch by inch. Not the best of days to choose to go dry fly fishing, but for some reason we did. It turned out to be very hard work. 5 grayling 8-14 inches and 2 trout 10-15 inches, F-Fly, Green Insect and Red Tag. Otherwise lots of grayling parr which seem to be in all our rivers at the moment. The better trout was a handsome fellow found just off the current dining on hatching willow flies.

Five trout caught, largest 14 inches all decent fish. Point to note: The roadway down to the last gate has some very large holes in it and will need filling after this winter.
