Great to see Bugeilyn again but hard days fishing. Just 3 trout for a lot of effort. Unusually quiet with very little surface activity or signs of feeding fish. Wind very gusty directly down the lake which made casting from either bank difficult. No action at all on top, tried the usual favourites, small black flies and many others without as much as a swirl. The three caught came to diawl bachs, nice sporty fish, few more would have been nice but very glad to have fished here this year.

No fish today, water and weather perfect. Spent an hour at the Home Catch but did not see a fish rise.
My conclusion- Social distancing.

Beautiful beat, truly a delight to fish once to get a good footing. Felt or studs a must. The locals were very welcoming.

Lovely weather day, river running well and clear. Plenty of a variety of flies appearing, but I did not see any rises. Fished all day with a gold bead hares ear on the point and unweighted nymphs on the dropper, trying to ‘match the hatch’ as they appeared. Landed 8 mainly from the streamier water, up to 9 inches, and missed a few sharp takes. Also a few parr, lots of them around. Also a first for me, 2 at 6 inches each at the same time. Not exactly on my bucket list but fun anyway !!

I booked and fished Abercynrig and Dinas as the best fishing seems to straddle both beats. All caught in French leader

A fine autumn day in this picturesque valley, with the river full, clear and fast flowing. Perhaps a bit too bright for the fish. Just two small trout caught on spider and gold bead GRHE nymphs. Hoped for grayling did not materialise and no fry evident. Good to see some of the conifers being removed from the hillsides.
