A cloudy but fairly war day, with little wind. Caught six brownie, five of which were caught on the dry fly. Missed lots of other takes, although the largest 11 inch fish taken on the nymph. Very pleasant afternoon, with quite a bit of wild life. Saw deer, my first kingfisher this season and unusually a Mandarin Duck!

2hr after work session river 1ft 3" trout kept me entertained and I thought the salmon that took me in the top of the Island was another trout at first, and only realised it was a salmon as it fell off!

Beautiful silver fresh cock salmon from Weirend beat weighed at 30 1/2 lbs on short black/silver SHFC this pm. Took some 2 hours to land. Swam away OK after short recovery .
