6 x trout 6-14 inches, usual suspect spiders - Waterhen Bloa, Dark Moorgame, Hare's Lug and Plover. A cold early morning, followed by a very bright sun. Quite a lot of fly around, but nothing seen rising. A cloudy afternoon might have gone better, but I had to leave at midday.

A beautiful day to fish, this was. Warm and not too windy and with a good level of water. I fully expected to see a salmon or two, even if I failed to catch them. I saw nothing. No sign of salmon at all. I'm really worried...

First fish of the season! Est 18-20lb Hen, fairly fresh - took a Dee Monkey conehead on a 10ft 6ips tip. Decent fight and went back with vigour... as did I! (Water was 1'9" with v slight colour)
