Water level low and running clear. Weather warm so only fished 6:30am - 1.00pm
Plenty of smaller fish seen swimming around at the Rock Pool (but only at the Rock Pool - everywhere else seemed lifeless), but even so, none were interested in taking bait!

A late session today ..... Fished 2 till neatly bang on five .... 20 degrees when I parked up...I walked up to Glan edw Farm, fishing the more quieter water and glides up there !!!
Superb too... some fun , with lots of smaller trout smashing mh dry fly!! All brilliant fun . In fairness today, eight fushvwerd probably peas in a pod ...About seven inches of so, with the remainder bring pukka feisty fat Edw fish !!@
We're in dire need of rain here .... big time . I came here, to thin out a few grey squirrels with the pneumatic. .22 ...I managed four, around the sheep creep.... so, not a bad start on their numbers, hence the fishing for a few hours afterwards....Weeeeeell, be rude not to hey !!! And in mayfly time too ....
Sport was fab if I'm honest... mega stealthy in low low warer !!! Those glides are fun ..... get the fish in quickly, and release tgrm fun stream, thrn rinse snd repeat.... If uouf quiet and stealthy, it's like that all the way up !!! Sublime sport!!!
Was getting difficult near five to see the dry fly in the dappled light on the water ... swagged it when I thought a splashy rise was to my fly ...Twice I was on the money...lol !!!
Anyway, another lovely session on a favourite, and a few grey squirrels in the bag too!! Andy will be pleased ..Back here sooooooooon , cold drink time ....lol !!!!

Well worth the drive and walk in. Something completely different.
Took exactly an hour to walk in from the car park and just over a hour to walk back. Good Land Rover track until you are at Llyn Melynllyn then you are on a sheep track down hill for the final section. No danger of getting a dog in the river during your session here! Very isolated location.
10.00-14.30 session so I would say I did not see the best parts of the day. Bright sunny day. Wind picked up a few times but always died off and the surface soon settled again. Saw 6 rises while setting up then only about another 6 before I finished within casting distance. However there was more activity way out towards the middle.
Walked round to the waterfall and fished back to the corner by the hut. 1 rod kitted out for dry flys and wet flies (no joy on this rod today) the other with intermediate line for getting right down. Lost a fish on an Alexandra then caught a brown trout and a char on a Red Tag nymph retrieved very slowly at depth.
Saw a peregrine falcon.
No need for waders as you do not need to enter the water and there is a very sudden drop off. You will need the backpack space for fishing kit!
Will definitely be going back for another session.
