Sadly the beat was not accessible as road closed for resurfacing. Rang Don for advice and he let me fish Wyebank instead. Temp not above 5c all day but a nice chub hung itself on the line to make me feel better.

Was cool when i bowled up at about ten , decided that Czech nymphing tactics may be a good move , water was slightly murky but looking good , and as I walked down , a heron took off surprising me and him !!!!

Was nice using the ten foot three weight , although must admit still favour my old six foot two weight to be honest . . . . . . It's a wicked tool for slipping small nymphs and dries under the alders in these small streams in summer .

Anyway , the Fishing , two grayling were about ten inches , great scrappy fish in one of the deep pools , and I then had a lovely fish where the river bends sharply to the left as your wading upstream , it's a very very deep pool here , and had a very gentle take on the hotspot nymph but boy did he have some poke !!!! Gently brought him in on the three pound Tippett , superb fish maybe seventeen inches and possibly two pounds at a push !!

A lovely three hours sport , fairly quick mooch upstream , as bad weather was promised later on . Did only have a few spots of drizzle , looking forward to here in a couple of months , it's one of my favourite beats on the Arrow . . . . Time for home and a dash of Drambuie in a large coffee me thinks !!!!!!! Back soon , fun mornings sport .

First time on Abernant and fish came from the whole length of the stretch. Largest fish was a lovely grayling of 16 or so inches and 1lb 13oz. All fish caught trotting maggots.

Arrived at Gregg's, had a coffee, and a roll then headed down to the river which was gin clear and a great height. We fished the French leader, taking our grayling in the deep tail out. On 2 occasions Shaun and I had fish on the same time once we found them, was more than 1 there! Thanks to Richard for a great days fishing

Quite a cold day with it only getting up to 4 degrees, really was expecting a few bites from chub.
By midday we had lander 6 barbel between two anglers and then after a long period of activity we managed another 2 barbel and 1 chub.
Was a great day for the time of year.
The river was 0.68 and rising when we started and 0.78 and rising at the end of the day. Possibly why the fish seemed to switch off at midday.
All fish were caught on good old faithful maggots.
A great day overall, saw a kingfisher in the morning and was so quiet all day all you could hear was the birds singing and the trickle of the river.

Quite rainy but a nice morning fishing. Fish were not where I expected them to be, all were caught in the riffles, not the deeper pools. Guess it has been very mild recently. Today it was 8-10 degrees C, river at 15" on Lugg Cam gauge, running a little cloudy but not too bad. Fish taken on Hare's Ear grubs and pheasant tail nymphs.

31 grayling 8-16 inches, trotting and Tenkara. A good average size with plenty of 14 and 15 inch fish. It rained all morning, but it seemed a good idea to get a trip in before the cold weather hits us.
