River was had a bit of colour and was dropping so I was hopeful for a good day's fishing. Despite this it was hard work and the fish seemed reluctant. Perhaps a sign of too much fishing pressure? 2/3 stockies caught too, unfortunately.

Superb days fishing and one we'll remember for a longtime. Good flow with the water a peaty colour. Fished the steps area below the church in the morning, and had 3 barbel. Then went downstream to the far end and fished from a ledge from about 12 lunchtime, and it went hectic after about 1pm when we had another 15 barbel and 2 chub, so walk the whole length and make the most of the venue, as it seems the far downstream end don't see many anglers.
Tried a few boilies but only had one barbel so we switched to hallibut pellets which did the trick along with 4oz feeders full of groundbait.
A great venue well worth the drive and money and as we are both P&DAA water bailiffs it was our our away day to concentrate just on the fishing and what a day it was. We'll be back.

Strange day, the usual swims didn't produce at all and it was definitely trial and error trying new areas, meaning some loss of tackle.
My friend had a pb barbel of 9lb 5oz just as the light was fading and was over the moon, as was I. Pellet feeder tactics used by both of us.
River was spot on, great colour and a bit of pace, though there was a fair bit of weed in the lower levels which hindered presentation, but perseverance is key on this beat.

Fished a 12 Adams. Fished well static or stripped through the strong wave. Missed several fish. The access road has deteriorated since I last fished here. Definitely 4x4 needed.

Checking out Colonels Water booking on Irfon there was too much water flowing through for any productive fishing. In the hope of quieter flows I headed for Middle Cilieni (on my wild stream pass) where actually things were not too much better in terms of flow. Only one trout was caught, although another 2 were hooked and jumped off. Unfortunately to add to difficulties, I met a poacher coming down the beat who had spoilt the pools above the fishing hut with his spinning rod. He didn't seem to have any comprehension that he was doing something wrong and I didn't press as he didn't seem to be the type to be reasoned with!

Due to various unexpected circumstances only managed an hour's fishing in the late morning. River was unexpectedly low. Not much of any hatch and no fish rising. Tried various combinations of dry fly and nymphs but no luck at all.

Managed to spend the late afternoon on the river which looked in good nick. However, despite there being the occasional evidence of a light hatch there were no fish rising and although I tried just about every dry and nymph flies I had, I managed to tempt absolutely nothing. Lovely stretch of river though and I will be back to try again.
