Cool day, river low and clear - has the recent rain not fallen on the Edw catchment? Occasional flies hatching, and some trout rising. Very wary though, eventually landed 4 ,to 12", but missed many more. On small grey and olive paras.

Great fishing conditions. After catching nothing for most of the day, I manage to get a nice 2lb Sea Trout.

Another amazing day on this beat. Caught from all across the beat and apart from 2 smaller barbel they were all between 6 and 8 pounds. Got a thorough soaking in the evening and also had a good amount of tackle swallowed by the rocks!

Still no signs up to state WUF private fishing which in my mind is a must given previous experience on this beat.

Pleasant late afternoon/evening session, mainly on the lower half of the beat. Recent rain put a bit of colour in the water to mask my clumsy approach. Very occasional large, pale upwings spotted fluttering on the water which were usually snaffled. Nearly every pool held fish and produced rises to olive and black klinkhammers, also plenty of pulls on a soft hackled PTN. Probably a couple of dozen pulls or splashy rises but most were very small fish unable to get the hook properly in their mouths. 5 trout stayed on long enough to come to hand, largest about 10", smallest 5". Two takes in one of the deeper pool felt bigger, but I didn't see the fish so can't be sure.

River started low and clear but later on started to rise and at a bit of a pace, which in turn brought fresh water and plenty of debris which made fishing a little hard.
Fished the lower part of Sugwas which had good access from the second parking area and a good few swims to fish, always have a good time even if the fishing wasn't to good this time.

Good day of fishing, clouds and sun breaks, high coloured water, 17C, bit windy time to time. Not much surface activity, all fish taken on wet fly and nymph, WBO imitation. No graylings this time. Trouts 10-15 inch, happy returned. 11 in total.
Thanks
