Mild and overcast, 0.9 (Ross), nice flow and colour, 12 degree water temp. Looked lovely (colour dropping out a bit) but fished much harder than we caught it two weeks back although we did all catch barbel. GB feeder and pellets or meat. 3 fished and 2 fishing again tomorrow in what should be better conditions.

6 barbel in total. River rising and coloured. Localised pockets of fish spread out throughout the fishery. It would be nice to see a few swims cuts in the second field as currently there are none.

1 Barbel caught on flavoured meat, 2 barbel lost & 1 other (chub or eel?) Due to debris coming down.
Only fished for 2hrs as rain made banks very very slippery, just about made it out (on all fours!!)
Gutted as the Barbel were really on the feed! Lesson learned. Spikes on boots reqd! Love this beat, never disappoints.

3 anglers. A challenging day as river had risen overnight with a lot of colour. Banks were treacherously slippy due to rain and mud. I fell over 3 times despite using dog spike & rope. 1 barbel landed, 7lb 2oz, and two lost, one at the net. About 15 or so chub, all fish to luncheon meat on feeder.

Beat:Bideford Brook
Fishing:Trout (River)

The Brook was higher and flowing faster than a few weeks ago, water slightly coloured which with the faster flow made things a bit harder. No joy in the morning, but slight improvement in the afternoon, persistence paid off with 2 WBT, both on beaded nymph.
Nice end to the trout season.
