Good trip to Chainbridge. Picked up an 8-10lb coloured cock salmon on a spinner in Chine pool.
Nice water height, just carrying a bit too much colour for the fly.
Also saw a good salmon near the bridge (15-20lb).

River coloured with levels dropping although there was heavy overnight rain the previous evening. 5 barbel caught by myself from two different swims. Unfortunately, the other angler did not catch. Both of us using the same ground bait feeder with pellet hook baits. Other hook baits tried but the barbel were only taking pellets. Banks very slippery so a dogspike and rope essential.

River was up at around 1 metre with a bit of colour. Weather was fine so looking forward to a good day. Only 6 chub of varying weights all day and not a sign of a Barbel. Tried all baits and methods to no avail. Have been fishing here for a number of years and the last 2 years on this beat has been notable for the scarcity of Barbel.
There always another day !!!
