Water conditions still quite coloured so no visible surface activity. Tried upstream and across small wtd.nymphs and selection of spider patterns to no avail so this is a nil return. Nevertheless this is a lovely section of river with some attractive pools and glides. Access though from the lower car park more like an assault course. No identifiable gate, style or pathway, thistles 7ft high, fallen trees and concealed wire fences. Exit from river proved even more difficult. Quite understand that we cannot expect manicured access and river banks especially since agriculture is suffering from depressed and volatile returns. Thought however that you would like to receive my genuine impressions of the venue.

Fishing as guest of owner.
Nice fly water but judged it too deep to wade comfortably and struggled with single left-hand Spey. No fish seen or touched (to fly or Flying C) so left it to the other rods after lunch and went down to Kemeys. Hooked a strong fish in the rain at about 5 pm on a small tube on sink-tip and after tense, 15-minute fight judged it ready for the Gye net. Drew it over the frame but when I lifted it wouldn't fold and flipped back over the rim leaving the treble embedded in the net mesh. Nice fresh fish of perhaps 8-9lb. Gutted!

A red letter day on a lovely beat with good company. 3 salmon caught, 9,10 & 15lb. All slightly coloured but belters all the same. Great to watch others take fish and a very easy drive home, very happy!

Difficult to judge the venue in respect of swims as the water was high. There may well be more swims but I was disappointed to only find 1 fishable swim about 150 yards upstream. Still, had 3 nice Barbel on pellets during the day. Would have liked to stay longer but the skies opened up and I was worried about getting out of the steep field which became extremely wet and slippery.

Had the stretch to myself. Fished 4 swims catching chub in three of them, all 3lbs plus, 4 in total. Found the barbel at lunchtime and had a good afternoon /evening catching 8 barbel to 8lbs plus, despite it raining from 2pm until I left. Very muddy but a good result in the end.

This was our second visit to Sugwas and the knowledge gained from the first visit paid off. One rod caught 12 Chub and 4 Barbel and the second 6 Chub and 7 Barbel.
All the fish were taken on pellet and groundbait feeder using meat, cheese , pellet and boilies as hook baits.
Both rods spent the day roving between the orchard and the wooded area above the field.
Great beat and even the extreme wet weather didn't dampen the day.

This was a cracking day - good water and weather and produced 42 fish to 4 rods, two thirds of which were grayling [biggest nearly 2lbs [MINE, MINE, MINE!!!!!!]on a black klinkhammer - much sport on dry/emerger stuff and using 'klink and dink'.
