Following rain on previous day/night Lugg was coloured with visibility of about 1 foot or so but it fined as the day passed. Started to fish at 12am at lowest weir, gentle SW breeze, intermittent sinshine. Spotted, and caught, first trout on Grey Wulf. Caught and rose fish steadily until 5.30pm when river went quiet despite fall of spent mayfly and vast numbers of olives. Should have stayed for evening rise but we were satisfied with catch and were hungry! Total 7 trout to 14 inches, 1 grayling of 12 inches all on Grey Wulf.
Stayed at Horse and Jockey, Knighton good room and food, not ideal if complete peace and quiet is required as busy town pub. Wye & Usk booking, info' and directions all spot on. Superb. Thank you.

Three brown trout caught and returned - two below the bridge and one above. All fish weighed 4-5 ounces and in excellent condition. One caught on weighted GRHE and the other two on dry fly Daddy Long Legs imitation. Good hatch of spinners as the sun came out between 1 and 2pm.
Directions and actual access to river very good. It is obvious that a knowledgeable fisherperson had indicated where the access points opposite the cottage should be installed as these lined up nicely with the pools. Shame that the upper section (above bridge) was not fenced on the cottage side as a herd of cows were in the river.
Booking service worked very well - thank you.

Excellent day where we caught 13 WBT and missed at least as many. While others have been unhappy concerning the wooded stretch of the river, it was underneath these trees that we caught most of the fish. Fish to 1lb 4oz and several around the 1lb mark. Only took the largest fish; the rest were released. Most caught on gold head PTN fishing New Zealand style under the trees.

Very tranquil location. Last time I was up here (last year) I saw an otter. None sighted this time, and nothing much to see anywhere save a steady confident solitary rise between and under protective overhang. A couple or more flies and nearly all patience were lost to foliage but persistence paid off when the rise went for and took a size 14 klinkhammer. A plump maybe 1.5lb trout gave tremendous sport for 10 minutes, was landed and duly returned (catch and release only here). Apart from missing one other take that was all the sport I had - but that one fish made it all worth while!

First time on the Wye, can't compare, but the river looked flooded. No movement in the morning , minimal fly life. Mid afternoon picked up with some rising in two calm sections. 5 brown trouts on olives and Adams, all released, biggest 12in. No take on mayfly, although several over the water. Unfortunately, no evening rise at all. Nice water, great day. Congratulation for the whole system!

I had Wyebank booked for Tuesday but knew there was a lot of water coming down the river so decided to try and brave the bank holiday boat trafic and fish in front of the rise. It was busy during the day but as always got quiet again in the evening and the river looked good. Although having a couple of good takes which did not stick it was to no avail. The next morning the river was well up with some colour as I expected but still fishable. I went down Wyebank with the fly but not really confident, again without success knowing that it would be good again on Wednesday when I was back at work!
