Yet more rain the previous day meant I arrived to find a high and still rising river. I fished fairly close in and although action was slower than normal, I finished with 3 barbel, the best weighing in at 9lb 6oz, my best for over a year.
One drawback of fishing the near bank was also catching three eels which, although released safely, make a complete mess of your hooklinks.
All fish caught using elips pellets and a feeder.

Prospects looked better than the previous day with the water fining down but still coloured. First visit to this beat so I relied on info from Simon from WUF for the likely hot spots on this height (2'2" at Lanstephan). He came up trumps - I scored with a colouring 10 lber from the Bachawy wading almost up to my armpits (water not particularly deep but I don't own long legs !!). I latched onto another for a few seconds off Green Bank which came to nothing. Several trout for all 3 rods, 1 around the 3 lb mark. Other rods had no luck with salar.

River very coloured, 2 metres of extra water and still rising through the morning. Dispite this managed a couple of nice barbel, both around 7lbs. River started to fall a little in the afternoon, but the fish remained unimpressed and I finished with just the two bites. Could have been worse given the conditions!
