Such an interesting beat but a bit cheeky at times. Lost a big G on sedge early on and then had fun with mid-size fish with a couple of grayling in the 35-40cm range.

Wading staff a must for me. The kingfisher will keep you company. As Arnie says......I'll be back!

5 Trout, 9 Grayling

While the river was very low, it was carrying a bit of colour. I don't know if this was due to the overnight rain, or just the way our rivers are these days. Around a dozen Grayling and 3 Trout from upstream in the morning. The Grayling were mostly in the 8 to 10 inch bracket, but one of the Trout must have gone 2lb. This could have been a 59 Flyfishers stockfish but, if it was, it was a long way from home. Otherwise, a veritable Lugg leviathan. All on a weighted nymph. Another dozen or so Grayling from downstream in the afternoon

My two Others were Minnows - which took a Size 14 PTN with alacrity

I have been fishing this beat for the best part of 20 years. Although I had a good day today, the beat is in need of some TLC; with fallen trees and rickety stiles a plenty. While Time's Winged Chariot may be hurrying near, I am still reasonably agile, but found myself struggling at times today

Conditions were very still and dry. Not many rises

Level very low as expected. Lots of silkweed coming down the river which made ledgering very difficult but had a couple of barbel and decent chub on the float. All fish fighting fit

2 Barbel, 8 Chub

Fish caught by rolling meat and feeder. 2 Anglers fished. The fish were in the faster water.River had some fresh water in.

4 Barbel, 14 Chub

Good day, 4 anglers and we all had barbel mostly on luncheon meat off the back of the island in the first field down from the church.

All fish caught on the feeder with pellets and ground bait

2 Barbel, 6 Chub

Low, clear water. Saw a fair few large trout but only succeeded in spooking them. One small fish caught late in the day, on a small Griffiths.
