Fished the stone weir. Barbel came later in the day. Lovely place to be, swims well maintained with steps down. Other was a perch - lots of predatory action on fry, and a dace.

A great day's fishing in a beautiful spot.
Hard work getting to the Stones and could be tricky in wetter conditions, but worth it today as not too slippy. My rope was handy accessing the swim.
My first ever barbel on the float, using meat as bait, the rest on ledgered pellets.
Water temp. 17.8°.

5 of us fishing on a showery day with light winds. Float fishing and ledgering with worm, and spinning. 1 small brownie caught which was safely returned. 1 rainbow hooked but unfortunately snapped the line. Other than that absolutely nothing. Very poor day for £115.

Although conditions were far better than we expected we only managed four Chub and a very angry Perch of a little over a pound on meat and a good Barbel lost to a hook pull. Can't help feeling we under achieved!!!.
