River coloured up slightly & briefly after the morning’s rain, but remained low. No surface activity from fish or flies other than midges in the evening. Persevering with nymphs upstream from farm resulted in just one small trout.

Nice beat. Some activity: one strike but no catches.
The metal walkway alongside Wall Pool is passable but getting overgrown.
It's not immediately apparent where to park by the Llanwrthwl bridge; we left the car on the slope down to the meadow, between the two gates. We had a little difficulty; if it was any wetter we might have got stuck.
Not clear how to access the right bank of the lower section unless wading.
Fishing Passport Note : Instructions for parking are included on the beat details... "park in front of the gate on the verge of the upstream side of the bridge, main road side".

Bright hot day, light breeze. Trout caught in fast riffles, or just under tree foliage close to bank (euro nymph PTN). 4 caught, lost 3. One lost on dry mayfly in evening but little in the way of a rise. Mixture of flies hatching but not in any great number in the pool I was fishing. River is very low and clear.
