We fished from around 4.30 until 9 and experienced a steady release of flies without any intensity. The fish seemed to be slower in coming to the surface than we viewed the previous night. The day turned out to be colder than expected when the intermittent sun dropped. We had a couple of fish early evening on large mayfly patterns.

We took fish on drys and nymphs above and below the studio. We only fished from around 10 until 4 and the morning was more active than the afternoon. Small Nymphs in the faster flowing and looking out for rises to fish too.

Beautiful setting, conditions ideal for wading where appropriate. But unfortunately, no salmon caught today. Will definitely go back. Beat owner incredibly helpful and welcoming , for which many thanks .

My first time on this interesting, varied beat . Some fly life including the odd Mayfly and the usual "one rise every 10 minutes" as fish randomly cruised in the flats under the road bridge.
Two fish on nymph and one lost as it tried the unusual tactic of charging towards me and trying to jump in my waders !
Water quality wasn't as I expected as it was very slightly turbid and with plenty of brown algae drifting down - the trout didn't mind.
Annoyingly I lost my perspex box of dry flies early on so didn't wait for the evening rise. If anyone finds it you can easily identify it as it contains mostly Klinks and will have a group of trout nearby shaking their sides with mirth !

Only fished late afternoon and evening. The fish were slow to start rising but when they did several takes on mayfly patterns. Weather a bit cold and breezy in the evening.

I wandered up the hill with my two mates to fish Llyn Ffynnon Lloer and had a beauty of 14" on a wet fly (fat and in great condition) with other interest from fish but no more landed by me. My highest altitude trout to date. We then returned to the valley floor and fished Llyn Ogwen. I had 5 to 6 small browns (dark and with bulging eyes) plus a fit, healthy looking rainbow of about a pound and a half. All fish were returned. It was bright and sunny all day and the views were stunning. Lovely place.
