2 WBT and 6 OSG caught and returned on a fair day (17 degrees) and overcast. Mayfly were hatching. 2 WBT lost estimated 1.5ibs from lower weir section. WBT were taking dry (olives) and nymph PTN; all OSG were caught on dry, olive Klinkhammer with white post. River in good condition with plenty of water running through - some sections coloured while other sections gin clear. Small issue with family walking their dogs and allowing all 3 in the river - beat ok after 1 hour rest. Great river still not fished all sections. Seen a number of WBT between 1.5-2lb mark

We caught 22 trouts during the all day mostly with sedge dry flies.
We found the Foundation's service very good and extremely convenient for strangers.
Your accommodation was very nice at: Bernice & John www.cerdynvilla.co.uk

Lovely afternoon, but nothing caught. In fact, saw very little fly life on the river and few fish moving. Tried mainly may flies and grey wulff. Very efficient service from the Foundation, as ever, but more detailed description of the best fishing pools would be helpful to a poor angler like myself.

A beautiful long beat with interesting and varied fishing, although pools 1 and 2 appeared to have no access to the water. No salmon caught and no takes on spinner or fly. I did however take a 12lb pike and a 3lb chub on a flying C.
A beat I'd return to.

This is a great stretch of water. Each slow glide is followed by a fast run into a big deep pool on a right angle bend and then a fast riffle. It repeats all the way up the beat. There is a very steep hill down to the start of the beat so remember on your way back not to follow the river all the way and then climb vertical - instead leave the river bank and follow the more gentle incline towards the top of the hill and the parking spot. Water was a little coloured. Plenty of flylife on the water and very sporadic Mayfly but very few rising fish. Caught 3 fish 6"-9" on mayfly, Grey Wulf and size 20 black and silver nymph

3 Trout

Fishing:Salmon

Two fresh salmon caught and one darker fish missed on barbless size 8 bann shrimp. Saw a large salmon in high teens head and tail about 30 yards below the beat far bank in the run and another straight across from the lower crib. Several shad including 5 pounder. The first salmon was about 8lb caught at the tail of Wyebank run below crib at 8.30pm and 10lb fish caught in bottom pool about 9.10pm.
I saw a small salmon at midday lying on the gravel bar, tail of the run, possibly the fish I caught and another much larger fish lying where the flow angles to the left bank and thought it an opportunity too good to miss with the hectic weekend coming up.
7 salmon seen today and caught two makes it one of my best days sightings on Wyebank for many a year. Bloom not too bad today just a tint and visbility good for both fish and fisherman. The last two days have not been too bad for canoes so it may be jammed over the weekend!
