Nice stretch of the river, sunny and warm, clear sky. Have not seen fish rising although LDO and midges were around. Nothing on dries, one 12' brown at 16:00 on a jig nymph in fast current.

The beat had lots of people walking past, having picnics, sunbathing on bedrock in the river. Kids were everywhere, lost count of the times was asked if I caught anything.

Sunny and strong wind made for difficult conditions until evening. All fish returned. Caught on Bibio, Hares Ear Nymph and Mallard and Claret.

We had a fantastic day on the river, despite no fish touched. With blazing sunshine and no fresh water for weeks we had managed expectations heading into the day, but what a glorious spot to spend the day casting and enjoying the weather!
We fished scandi shooting heads + intermediate tips with dressed flies (Alley Shrimp, Cascade and Silver Stoat) on the top pools and had a few casts of the spinner on the bottom section but no takers. Thanks to the crystal clear water several fish were spotted holding tight on the bottom.
We were superbly looked after by the gillie Nathan, and will absolutely be coming back.

Started fairly late in the day and fished through to sunset. Fished various nymphs in the fast water and dries on the flats. Unfortunately no fish caught but a fair amount of rises in the late evening. A small hatch of brook dunn at sunset.

Seen numerous young brown trout and including three eels within the shallows.

An astonishing day; clear blue skies, fantastic scenery and plenty of hungry fish, periodically rising throughout the day.
All taken on dry flies.

Beautiful beat and a wonderfully enjoyable days fishing.
