First time on this beat, hopefully will not be the last. Fished few hours in the middle of the day on a good river. The one Barbel caught around eight pounds. Exceptional beat in glorious countryside. Thanks must go to SM from Tiverton for help in choosing the right area to fish

Well, its been an age since I fished a "pukka" wild stream ....The Outflows of the Elan and Claerwen, and a few cold feeder streams have been a god send, during this baking hot summer ...Good trout and grayling to the net for me and my clients.....
The big reservoirs have picked up, in the last two weeks, with cracking days in the Elan Valley and Nantymoch...Anyway I digress, the Ithon is still very very low, but I fished today anyway....... Twas warm between 10 and half one ...21 ddgrees so they said...
Three fish, and i have to say, i was pleased with those bad boys too, in the low, clear water . The NRW gauge said its at 0.115... but I think its much lower than that!!! All fish on the dries ....
Ill get on the Upper Wye tommorrow, and a client day in the mountains on Thursday and Friday !! Right, time for a cuppa, to wet my whistle!!!! A very pleasant three hours on the stream ......
